Why Port St. Lucie Homeowners Choose PGT Windows & Doors

TruePane Windows & Doors provides independent PGT windows and doors repair, service, and our Window Installation services throughout Port St. Lucie and St. Lucie County. We service WinGuard Aluminum, SpectraGuard, Eze-Breeze, and Series 900 Vinyl product lines down to the balance shoe and the lock keeper, not just the brochure. We are an independent PGT service provider, not a factory-authorized dealer, which means we answer to you, not to a territory agreement. Call (772) 362-3326 for a free estimate on any PGT window or door that is fogged, binding, corroded, or simply worn past its prime.

Port St. Lucie has a housing stock unlike anywhere else in Florida. The GDC-built CBS tract homes that fill the numbered sections from the mid-1970s through the 1990s still carry tens of thousands of original single-pane aluminum windows. Homeowners who have upgraded since then overwhelmingly chose PGT Windows & Doors in Port St. Lucie, FL, and those products now age in a specific environment: salt air from the Atlantic and the Indian River Lagoon, hurricane-force wind loading, and relentless sun. That combination creates failure modes you will not find on a manufacturer spec sheet. We know them because we fix them every week.

Why Trust TruePane Windows & Doors for Your PGT Windows & Doors?

Our technicians have serviced hundreds of PGT windows and doors along the Treasure Coast. We know WinGuard casements, SpectraGuard sliders, Eze-Breeze verticals, and Series 900 vinyl frames the way a mechanic knows a specific engine family: by the sounds they make when something is wrong, and by the parts that wear first in this climate. When a SpectraGuard door in a canal-front home binds every July, we know it is not the door slab, it is the roller assemblies picking up salt corrosion. When a WinGuard insulated unit fogs, we know the seal failed and the fix is a new IGU, not a new window.

Dale Kessler, our owner, grew up in the Tradition area of Port St. Lucie and trained in the building trades program at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce before spending the better part of two decades fitting and glazing windows and doors across St. Lucie County and providing Indiantown Pgt service. He built TruePane on a simple rule that still governs every PGT job we take: if the pane is not true, the job is not done. We register both manufacturer warranty layers in writing, state the durations on paper, and back every repair and install with our Done Right Promise. No paperwork fights, no arguing. If it is not done right, we make it right.

Common PGT Windows & Doors Problems We Fix in Port St. Lucie

  • Fogged WinGuard insulated glass units. When the seal on a WinGuard IGU fails, moisture gets between the panes and leaves mineral deposits that cannot be wiped off. This is the most common PGT issue we see in Port St. Lucie, and it has nothing to do with the frame. We replace the glass unit itself, keeping your original frame and your Florida Product Approval documentation intact.
  • SpectraGuard sliding glass doors that bind or drag. Salt-laden air from the Atlantic and the Indian River Lagoon corrodes the roller assemblies on SpectraGuard doors faster than inland locations. The door gets harder to open every season, and the temptation is to force it. Do not. Forcing a corroded roller bends the track, and that turns a $150 roller job into a full track replacement.
  • Series 900 vinyl corner failures. The corners on Series 900 frames are welded, but decades of sun exposure and repeated wind load from hurricane seasons can stress the corner welds until the vinyl cracks or the corner starts to separate. The warning sign is a visible hairline crack at the corner or a window that will not seat squarely in its frame.
  • Eze-Breeze vertical panel spline shrinkage. The vertical panels on Eze-Breeze porch enclosures are held in their tracks by vinyl spline. After enough Florida sun, the spline shrinks and pulls out of the track. The panel then weeps water and lets air through. It looks like the panel failed; it is almost always the spline.
  • Stripped WinGuard lock keepers and dropped sashes. Older WinGuard casement windows used a keeper design that strips over time, especially if the window was ever forced against wind pressure. The sash drops out of square and the window will not close flush. A stripped keeper is a repair, not a replacement, if you catch it before the sash damages the frame.

PGT Parts & Our Repair-vs-Replace Approach

We use OEM PGT parts when they are still manufactured. Balance shoes, operator arms, sweeps, and most WinGuard hardware are available from PGT, and we order them rather than substitute. But for discontinued hardware like older WinGuard locksets, we install proven aftermarket counterparts that match function and finish. We will tell you which is which before we order anything, and we will show you the part on the invoice.

Our rule is simple: we restore original performance before we suggest replacement. A fogged WinGuard IGU gets a new glass unit, not a new window. A SpectraGuard door with corroded rollers gets new rollers and a track cleaning, not a five-thousand-dollar door swap. We only recommend full replacement when the frame itself is compromised, the product is no longer serviceable, or the homeowner wants to upgrade to current impact ratings. Call (772) 362-3326 and we will give you an honest read on which one applies to your situation.

Our PGT Service Process - Step by Step

  1. 1
Diagnosis. We inspect the window or door in place, identify the specific PGT part or failure that is causing the symptom, and document what we find. No guesswork, no vague “it’s worn out” answers. You will know exactly what is wrong.
  2. 2
Repair or replacement quote. We price the OEM part if available, or a matching aftermarket part if not. The quote is line-item, on paper, and it does not change once work starts. That is the square deal.
  3. 3
Service. We complete the repair or installation. For full-frame PGT replacements, we pull the old window, set the new one square and level, flash it properly, and secure it to the existing CBS opening. For repairs, we replace the failed part and test the operation.
  4. 4
Testing. We cycle the window or door through its full range of motion. We check the seal, the hardware, the balance, and the locking mechanism. If it is an impact product, we verify the FPA documentation is still valid for your insurer.
  5. 5
Warranty registration. Before we leave the driveway, both manufacturer warranty layers are registered in writing with durations stated. That is The Keystone Standard, and it applies to every PGT job we do.

PGT Products We Service & Install in Port St. Lucie

We service and install PGT WinGuard Aluminum windows and doors in casement, single-hung, picture, and sliding configurations. We handle SpectraGuard sliding glass doors, Series 900 vinyl windows, and Eze-Breeze vertical and horizontal porch enclosure systems. If you have a PGT product that is not listed here, call us anyway. The odds are good we have worked on it.

We also perform full-frame replacement of old, non-impact-rated windows with PGT Windows & Doors in White City, FL and other impact-rated products. Most of our Port St. Lucie replacement jobs are full-frame: the original GDC-era aluminum frame comes out, the opening gets inspected, and the new impact window is set, flashed, and sealed properly. That is the only way to get documented impact protection and the insurance benefit that comes with it.

We Also Service These Brands

While PGT is a large part of our service work in Port St. Lucie, we are authorized installers for more than a dozen manufacturer lines. That includes Andersen, Pella, and CGI, among others. We quote manufacturer lines side by side on paper so you can see exactly what you are buying and what each line actually costs. We are not married to one brand, which means our PGT recommendation means something.

PPat and Ray L.
★★★★★

"French doors to the patio, custom size because this house was built in 1961 and nothing is standard. Measured twice, three weeks to fabricate like they warned, and the install day they laid runners over my floors without being asked."

MMarie S.
★★★★★

"Impact windows on the whole house. They handled the permit, the inspection, and gave me a folder with every approval number for the insurance company. My windstorm premium dropped enough to notice."

BBill T.
★★★★★

"Eleven windows replaced in two days. The crew chief, Marcus, showed me the level on every single frame before they caulked it. My wife noticed the street noise was gone before I did."

RRonald P.
★★★★★

"Our bay window had rotted at the sill and two other outfits wanted to talk us into a flat picture window instead. TruePane rebuilt the opening and matched the original look. Neighbors have knocked on the door about it."
