How TruePane Windows & Doors Was Born in Port St. Lucie

Dale Kessler didn’t wake up one morning planning to bring a window company to Port St. Lucie. It happened the way most honest things do: slowly, then all at once. He’d been running TruePane windows operations for years by then, watching crews drive past the same neighborhoods with the same complaint: nobody wanted to touch coastal Florida openings. Salt air eats frames. Hurricanes rewrite building codes every few seasons. And homeowners here had learned, through hard experience, to be suspicious of anyone holding a measuring tape.

Call (772) 362-3326

What sealed it was a call from a woman in White City. Her previous installer had set a sliding door out of level and told her it was “within tolerance.” She’d been living with a door that bound every August and whistled every December. Dale stood in her lanai, put his level across the header, and didn’t say anything for a full minute. Then he told her the truth: it wasn’t within anything. It was out of true. That afternoon he started the paperwork to open a Port St. Lucie branch. Not with fanfare, not with ads. Just a promise that every opening in this city would be square, plumb, and sealed, or it wasn’t finished.

Dale Kessler’s Personal Connection to the Windows & Doors Trade

Dale grew up around glass the way other kids grew up around sports. His father worked in the trade, and some of Dale’s earliest memories are of riding along on Saturdays, the truck smelling like glazing compound and sawdust, watching grown men argue over whether an eighth of an inch mattered. It did, every time. He learned young that a window is either right or it’s wrong, and there’s no middle ground that works for anyone.

What kept him in it wasn’t the glass. It was the moment after a job is done, when the homeowner runs a hand along a new sash and realizes the draft they’d lived with for ten years is just gone. That quiet. That exhale. Dale has been in the trade for more than a decade and a half now, and that moment has not once gotten old. It’s why he still walks every final inspection himself, why he keeps a 6-foot level in his truck that’s older than some of his crew, and why he’ll spend twenty minutes explaining a caulk joint to a customer who asks. He’s a second-generation glazier, but the real inheritance wasn’t the tools. It was the rule his father wrote on the whiteboard of the shop and never erased: if the pane is not true, the job is not done.

If he weren’t doing this, Dale thinks he might’ve been a finish carpenter. Something with edges you could check with a square. Something where done meant done.

Meet Dale Kessler - The Person Behind Every Job

Dale Kessler is the Owner and Founder of TruePane Windows & Doors, and the local lead for our Port St. Lucie branch. He grew up in the trade, apprenticed under working glaziers who measured twice and cursed once, and has spent his entire professional life in windows and doors. That’s not a franchise-training badge or a home-office certification. It’s calluses, a bad back, and the kind of eye that can spot an out-of-square rough opening from a driveway.

Outside work, Dale is the person who keeps a tidy truck, returns calls before the day’s end, and believes a handshake still means something. When he says he’ll be there, he’s there. When a job isn’t right, he doesn’t make you fill out a form to prove it. He comes back. That’s the whole promise, and it’s the one he makes personally on every job we take in Port St. Lucie.

Our Promise to Port St. Lucie Homeowners

We work by the K.E.Y.S. code, and it isn’t a marketing gimmick. It’s four rules Dale has kept since long before the Port St. Lucie branch opened.

Krafted right: trained journeymen, proper materials, no shortcuts. We don’t swap a spec’d flashing for something cheaper because it’s easier. We install what the opening needs.

Every time: the 400th job gets the care of the first. That’s not a slogan. It’s the only way to stay in business in a coastal climate that punishes lazy work.

Your home first: we work in your house the way we’d work in our mother’s. Drop cloths down, shoes in the entry, no mud through the living room.

Standing behind it: if it’s not right, we come back. No paperwork, no arguing. The Keystone Standard says both warranty layers in writing, durations stated, and 90 days on our workmanship. You’ll have it all on paper before we leave the driveway.

Our Credentials

When someone comes to work in your home, you deserve to know who you’re letting through the door. Here’s what we require of every pro working under the TruePane name in Florida:

  • State-licensed, as required by Florida law for the work they perform
  • Insured and bonded, with coverage appropriate for residential window and door installation
  • Trained through hands-on apprenticeship under working glaziers before leading a job
  • Held to the Keystone Standard on every install, including both warranty layers in writing

Dale Kessler has spent more than fifteen years in the windows and doors trade, starting in a family shop and working his way up through install crews, job oversight, and now local leadership of the Port St. Lucie branch. We carry the reputation of the TruePane name, and in a community like this one, a reputation isn’t built by advertising. It’s built one opening at a time, by people who stand behind what they install.

Why does that matter to you? Because a license means someone answers to the state if things go wrong. Because bonding means you’re protected if a job goes sideways. And because the strongest guarantee in the world is only as good as the person who shows up to honor it. We intend to be easy to find.

Rooted in Port St. Lucie

We live here. Our kids go to school in St. Lucie County. We shop in the same Publix on Port St. Lucie Boulevard that you do, and we’ve sat through the same July thunderstorms wondering if the power will hold. When a homeowner in Fort Pierce South asks us whether PGT or CGI glass makes sense for their exposure, we’re not reading from a brochure. We know how the morning sun hits those streets and what summer rain does to a west-facing frame in White City. That’s not expertise you can franchise in. It’s just being a neighbor long enough to know the answer.

Keystone companies like TruePane hire local, train apprentices into journeymen, and answer the phone with a person because a company that plans to be in town in thirty years acts like it. We plan to be here. Give us a call at (772) 362-3326 and we’ll give you a straight answer and a free estimate on paper.
