Andersen Door Installation: The Port St. Lucie Owner’s Guide

An Andersen door installation in Port St. Lucie typically costs $240 to $690 installed, depending on the part, the Andersen series, and whether we’re dealing with a standard roller assembly or a full multipoint lock replacement. Most jobs are completed in one visit because we keep common Andersen hardware on the truck. You’ll usually know the part has failed when the door starts dragging, won’t latch cleanly, or you hear grinding when it slides.

We’re TruePane Windows & Doors, and we’ve been fitting Andersen doors across St. Lucie County long enough to know which parts fail first in this climate. Salt air, hard water, and summer humidity do a number on rollers, weatherstripping, and locking hardware. Dale Kessler grew up in the Tradition area, so he’s seen what thirty years of Florida weather does to a door that was installed wrong the first time or simply wore out honestly. We match the part, set it square, and stand behind the work.

Which Andersen Models This Applies To

We install parts for the full Andersen lineup found in Port St. Lucie homes: 200 Series, 400 Series, and A-Series hinged patio doors, plus Andersen gliding doors, Frenchwood outswing and inswing models, and the newer E-Series. The most common calls are for Frenchwood gliding door rollers, 400 Series patio door locking assemblies, and weatherstripping kits that have gone brittle after a decade of Florida UV exposure.

The fastest way to identify your door is the silver Andersen etching in the corner of the glass or the white label on the top edge of the door panel. That label gives you the series, size, and manufacturing date. If the label is gone, we measure the door slab thickness and the hardware cutouts. One compatibility gotcha to know: Andersen changed the roller housing design between Frenchwood generations, and a roller listed as “universal” often doesn’t sit flush in the older tracks. We quote OEM parts and quality aftermarket equivalents side by side on paper, so you know exactly what you’re buying and why it costs what it does. TruePane is an independent service provider, not an Andersen affiliate. We’re also an authorized installer for more than a dozen lines, including, PGT, so we can compare what’s actually in stock and what fits your opening.

Signs Your Andersen Door Installation Is Failing

  • Door drags or feels heavy when you slide it. Roller bearings have flattened or corroded. On Andersen gliding doors, the nylon wheel wears down over time, and the door starts riding on the metal housing, which scores the track.
  • You have to lift the door to latch it. The hinge adjustment has slipped or the door slab has settled. On hinged Andersen doors, this usually points to worn hinge bushings, and continuing to force it will oval out the screw holes.
  • Air and insects come in around the edges. Weatherstripping has compressed or the door is out of square. In Port St. Lucie, we see this most in the spring when no-see-ums are at their worst and homeowners notice the gap for the first time.
  • Lock binds or the deadbolt won’t turn without force. The multipoint lock gearbox has stripped a tooth or the door has shifted enough to misalign the hook bolts with the keepers.
  • Condensation between the glass panes. The insulated glass unit’s seal has failed. You don’t always need a full door replacement; on many Andersen models, the glass unit can be swapped while keeping the existing slab and frame.

Replacement Cost & What’s Included

Here’s the honest pricing picture for Andersen door installation work in Port St. Lucie:

  • Gliding door roller replacement: $240 to $380 installed, including removing the door slab, cleaning the track, and setting the new rollers
  • Weatherstripping kit (full perimeter): $180 to $290 installed
  • Multipoint lock assembly replacement: $320 to $590 installed, depending on whether it’s a standard hook bolt or the tri-point version
  • Hinge bushing replacement and door re-square: $260 to $420 if the door slab is true and no frame work is needed
  • Insulated glass unit replacement: $390 to $690 installed for standard Andersen dual-pane units

Every quote includes parts, labor, haul-away of the old hardware, and a written line item price before we start. We pull no change orders after the fact. The Keystone Standard means both warranty layers, manufacturer and our workmanship, are registered in writing before the truck leaves your driveway, and the Done Right Promise covers the labor. If it’s not right, we make it right. No arguing.

DIY or Call Us?

You can safely check the track for debris, confirm the Andersen etching or label, and note whether the door rubs at the top or bottom. That’s useful information for the phone call. Where I’d stop is at removing the door slab. A Frenchwood gliding panel runs 80 to 140 pounds depending on the glass package, and if the roller adjusters are seized, you’ll be fighting the panel while it’s out of the track. That’s how backs get thrown and glass gets broken. Hinged door multipoint locks are also tighter than they look; the gearbox sits inside routed pockets, and forcing a misaligned assembly can bend the keepers inside the frame. If the door binds, call us at (772) 362-3326 and we’ll set it square the same visit.
