• CWS Satin Finish Post Corrosion at the Base Plate. We see this most often on exterior deck railings within three miles of the St. Lucie River. The stainless post itself holds up, but the base plate fasteners were not always isolated from the aluminum shoe, and galvanic corrosion sets in where the two metals touch. Salt air accelerates it. We pull the post, clean or replace the shoe, install isolation washers, and re-torque to spec. Skipping the isolation step means the same failure comes back in eighteen months.
• Fogged Glass Panels in the Frameless Series. CWS frameless panels use a laminated glass makeup with an interlayer that can delaminate at the edges when drainage weep holes clog. Hard water from Port St. Lucie irrigation leaves mineral deposits that block the weeps, water sits against the interlayer, and the panel clouds from the bottom up. After a few years of kids swinging on the gate, the post leans and the latch stops lining up. We core-drill deeper, reset the post in epoxy, and re-hang the gate so the reveal is even. A shimmed hinge will not fix a foundation problem.
• Cable Railing Tension Loss on Waterfront Decks. On the CWS cable rail option, the turnbuckle threads seize from salt exposure and the cables lose tension unevenly. Owners try to crank the turnbuckle, strip the threads, and then the whole run has to be re-pulled. We free the seized fitting with penetrating oil, replace stripped components, and pull each run to a consistent tension with a gauge, not a guess.
