• The sash won’t seat square in the frame, or it catches on one side. Either the jamb liner has shifted, the frame has settled, or the original install wasn’t level. If the frame itself is out of square, you can’t fix that with shims behind the liner. DIY or Call Us?

You can check a few things safely: look for the serial label on the sash, check whether the locks engage fully, and see if the frame is visibly out of level with a bubble level. Those observations help us quote accurately over the phone. What we don’t recommend is pulling the sash out of an Andersen double-hung window. The jamb liners are under spring tension, and they can snap back hard enough to take a finger. Removing an insulated glass unit improperly also voids any remaining warranty, and Andersen is particular about how their stops and glazing beads come out and go back in.
